Amla Reetha Shikakai Powder — آملہ ریٹھا سکاکائی
The classic desi hair trio in one ready-to-use blend. Amla, reetha and shikakai have been the traditional shampoo of the subcontinent for centuries — long before bottled shampoo existed — and they still work.
What Each Ingredient Does
- Amla (آملہ) — Indian gooseberry, extremely rich in vitamin C; traditionally used for hair strength, darkness and shine
- Reetha (ریٹھا) — soapnut, contains natural saponins that create a gentle lather and clean without stripping
- Shikakai (سکاکائی) — “fruit for hair”, mildly acidic so it cleans while keeping the scalp’s natural balance
Why Use It Instead of Shampoo?
- No sulphates, silicones or synthetic fragrance
- Does not strip colour or natural oils
- Traditionally used for hair fall, dandruff and premature greying
- Safe for oiled hair — it cuts oil without harshness

How to Use
Soak 3–4 tablespoons in warm water for a few hours or overnight — this releases the natural saponins. Strain if you prefer, then massage through wet hair and scalp, leave 10–15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. Use once or twice a week.
Pairs well with Bhringraj Powder and Sidr Leaves Powder.
FAQs
Will it lather like shampoo? Lightly. Reetha produces a natural, gentle foam — not the thick lather of detergent shampoo.
Can I use it on coloured or henna-treated hair? Yes, it is much gentler on colour than sulphate shampoo.
How often should I use it? Once or twice a week is typical.
Does it need conditioner afterwards? Most people find it unnecessary, but a light oil on the ends afterwards works well.
